Recycle your tennis balls at the DFC!

Did you know that the US leads the world in trashing over 125 million tennis balls a year into our landfills? That is 20,000 metric tons of methane-producing rubber waste that takes more than 400 years to decompose. This is a significant environmental problem and *we* want to be part of the solution!

The Duke Faculty Club has partnered with www.recycleballs.org to help ensure all tennis balls at the club are recycled and reused. This non-profit uses an innovative process to grind up the balls and separate the felt from the rubber. This by-product is called GREEN GOLD which can be used in the construction of tennis courts and horse footing. Other balls are sold and reused as "no trash" dog balls. Please help this pioneering nationwide mission by recycling your tennis balls into the green bins located inside by the front desk.

Yellow is the new green...thank you!
