Record Season for the DFC Aqua Devils

The DFC Aqua Devils swim team – comprised of over 170 swimmers from ages 4 to 18 – celebrated a record-setting summer season. Not only did the team finish the regular season undefeated, they captured the DSSL Championship for the first time since joining the league in 1988. Our dedicated Head Coaches Christy and Dawn led a team of 8 enthusiastic assistant coaches, many of whom are former Aqua Devils themselves.

This summer the team reintroduced a new group called the Little Devils, which exposes our youngest Devils to competitive swimming. The team also celebrated 7 graduating seniors this year, many of whom have spent their childhood on the team. The team traditionally ends their season (which runs from mid-May to mid-July) with a fun banquet for the whole team and their families, enjoying great food, music, and many different awards.

According to Coach Christy “it was a banner summer for the Aqua Devils, which was a culmination of a lot of key factors: dedicated swimmers who showed up for every dual meet and for Champs (we even had one family change a flight to Europe so that their swimmer could compete!); assistant coaches who grew up in the program; and countless volunteers who coordinated meets and invested so much time and energy to make the summer not only a success, but a lot of fun too!”

The club would like to thank our fabulous head coaches, Christy and Dawn, the assistant coaches, as well as the dozens of parent volunteers who make the summer meets run flawlessly. We also loved having Purple Bowl Chapel Hill and Sister Liu's Kitchen trucks at all our home meets.

Looking forward to Summer 2025!
