General Information:

  • All members who reserve a Sauana spot on Court Reserve must come to the office and read/sign a User Agreement to receive the door code.
    • Do not share the door code with others.
    • Every user (even in the same family) needs to read and sign User Agreement before first use.
  • Sauna is for ages 18+ only, no exceptions.
  • Clothing and/or bathing suits must be worn at all times. The DFC has a zero tolerance policy for this rule.
  • Towels are required for use in the sauna. Use your towel while sitting on the sauna benches. This is required to preserve cleanliness of the sauna and to also protect your skin from possible warm/hot surface. The DFC does not provide towels.

Sign Up Procedures:

  • All users must reserve on Court Reserve under Sauna Reservations – drop ins not allowed.
  • There is a max of 4 persons at any time in the sauna.
  • Registrations are for 30 minute intervals
    • Monday - Friday starting at 6:30am, ending at 7:30pm.
    • Saturday starting at 8:30am, ending at 7:30pm.
    • Sunday starting at 9:30am, ending at 7:30pm.

How to Use:

  • Hooks are provided in the front porch area for your coat/towels, but members must change in the Clubhouse locker rooms.
  • Shoes are not allowed in the sauna – remove and leave them on the porch.
  • Do not touch or alter the temperature gauge or any devices in the sauna. The sauna is set to 190°F.
  • Be cautious when adding water to the stove. Use the wooden ladle provided to gently add water to the rocks on top of the stove for desired steam. Add only one ladleful at a time. Steam intensifies the heat and can cause burns. Do not use water from your water bottle as this can be dangerous. If the water bucket is empty, please fill it from the water cooler on the sauna porch.

Dos & Don’ts

  • No food or drink is allowed in the sauna. Keep water bottles in porch area.
  • No glass bottles or containers are permitted.
  • Leave your phone in the porch area. Devices will malfunction from the heat inside the sauna. Watches and jewelry should also be removed.
  • Please keep talking and sound to a minimum so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful and quiet experience.
  • Make sure the sauna door is firmly closed at all times. Enter and exit swiftly.
  • Clean up trash and take all belongings with you when you leave.
  • Make sure to hydrate before and after using the sauna. Please do not drink the water on the sauna porch.

Use at your own risk – make sure to leave the sauna area immediately if you are feeling light-headed, nauseous, faint or have an elevated heart rate. Pregnant women should consult a physician prior to the use of the sauna.  

It is solely your responsibility to monitor your body and its reactions and determine if it is appropriate to use the sauna. You alone are responsible for your safety and well-being.

 

Sauna privileges can be revoked at any time if not following these rules and guidelines.
