Did you know that the US leads the world in trashing over 125 million tennis balls per year into our landfills? That is 20,000 metric tons of methane-producing rubber waste that takes 400 years to decompose! This is a significant environmental problem and now *we* can be part of the solution.

The Duke Faculty Club has partnered with www.recycleballs.org to help ensure all tennis balls here at the club are recycled and reused. This company has an innovative process that grinds up the balls and separates the felt from the rubber to create a product called GREEN GOLD, which is used in the construction of tennis courts and horse footing. Other balls are sold to dog owners. Please help this pioneering nationwide organization by putting all your used tennis balls into the green bins located inside by the front desk. Thank you!
