  • All full-time employees of Duke University and Duke University Health System, including House Staff, Post-Docs, and Fellows
  • Waitlist Information
    • DFC membership is currently at capacity. Please contact us to be placed on the waitlist for new members.
    • New memberships will begin on April 1 (the beginning of the DFC membership year).
    • New members will be accepted in order of which they are on the waitlist.

Membership Categories

Family Membership - Family membership is extended to all individuals who live in the same household as the individual eligible for Duke Faculty Club membership. This includes spouse/spousal equivalent/domestic partner, all children who qualify as IRS dependents, and persons who live in the household for six or more months of the year.

Single Membership - (one person membership) At least one person in the household must be eligible for Duke Faculty Club membership, as defined in the Bylaws; however, any member of the household who is over 18 years of age may be designated the single member.

Membership Status

Active - Members whose have paid dues and other financial obligations for the current membership year are active members. This entitles them use of all DFC facilities and to participate in any DFC activities.

Inactive - Members who choose not to pay their annual dues or whose account is past due by 60 days or more are considered inactive members. The Board of Governors may establish an annual charge for maintaining inactive status. Please contact the office for further details.

Sabbatical - Members may choose to move their membership into an inactive status while on sabbatical. Please contact the front office for more information.

Changes in Employment Status

  • Retiring from Duke while an active DFC member will not change the status of your eligibility. You may continue membership, become inactive, or resign membership.

Membership Cards

As of November 1, 2022, the DFC transitioned its Membership Cards to the DFC CourtReserve app available on the App Store or Google Play Store. The new membership barcode is needed to check in when visiting the club and accessing any of the DFC facilities (pool, fitness center, tennis courts, etc.). During peak summer hours, the check-in kiosk will be located in the outside entrance way to the club, otherwise it will be inside by the admin office.

Membership barcodes also allow for easy payment at the snack bar. All snack bar charges will be billed to your membership account and included on the following month’s invoice.

DFC Pro Tip — if you forget your phone, you can always type in your specific membership number on the kiosk.

Child Care Provider INFORMATION

Every membership is allowed a complimentary “Child Care Provider” on their account so that an adult (16 years or older) child care provider can bring members’ children to the DFC in lieu of parents. If the children’s parents are at the club, as well, then regular guest fees apply for all non-DFC members, including babysitters.

Please let the office know if you would like to have a generic "Child Care Provider" added to your DFC account. Membership numbers for "Child Care Providers" will be Member#-CCP.

Parking

Members are issued new parking decals at the beginning of every membership year (April 1). Parking decals should be placed on the driver’s side lower corner of the windshield. Vehicles without current decals are subject to ticketing and towing through Duke Parking.

All guests and visitors must check in with the admin office to receive a temporary one-day parking pass.

DFC Pro Tip — you can park at the DFC for all home football and basketball games!
