The DFC offers numerous recreation, social, and youth programming throughout the year. Below is a listing of our most popular programs, but we're always looking to grow and improve our offerings so be sure to read the News Bulletin and Newsletter for the most current information.

 

Mini-Camp
When the kids are out of school and you need a fun, safe place for them to go, bring them to the DFC Mini-Camp! From 8:30am to 5:30pm, the day will be filled with games, sports, and other fun activities. Offered throughout the school year on student vacation days, these programs fill-up quickly so get your registration in early.

Parent's Night Out
Why scramble for a sitter when you can bring your kids to the DFC for a night of fun? Parent's Night Out is open to children 4-12 yrs old, and is offered on the second Friday night of every month. Games, homemade pizza, desert, and a movie ... it's a kid's dream come true!
TIME: 6:00pm - 9:30pm
AGE: 4-13 yrs old
MEMBERS: $15 per child ($10 for second child, $5 per child after that)
NON-MEMBERS: $20 per child ($15 for second child, $10 per child after that)

CPR/AED Training
Are you looking for something different to do for your sweetheart in February? How about learning to jump start his/her heart with Adult CPR/AED training? Check out the January/February newsletter for more details.

Family Campout
Are you ready for some outdoor fun? Then bring your family, friends, tent, and sleeping bags to the DFC for our Family Campout. Held every spring and fall, we'll provide fun activities, campfire, smores, dinner, and breakfast. It's a great chance to enjoy the cool nights and starry skies without "roughing it" too badly ... bathrooms, showers, and running water are always a short walk away.

Spring Egg Hunt
Grab your basket and bunny ears and come join us welcome in the spring with our annual Egg Hunt. Children of all ages will canvas the DFC for candy-filled eggs and prizes. And if you're truely eagle-eyed, perhaps you'll come away with one of the coveted golden eggs!

Memorial Day Summer Celebration
The Memorial Day Summer Celebration is an all day fun-filled event for the whole DFC community. We have a 3v3 basketball tournament, round robin tennis social, giant inflatables for the kids, drinks for the adults, and pool games and live music for everyone! This is a great time to meet new members and reconnect with old friends. We hope to see you there!

Pre-Teen (and then some) Pool Parties
These pool parties, held three to four times a summer, are for the rising 5th through 10th grade crowd and their friends. Floats, toys, music, relay games, splash competitions, pizza and ice-cream help make these one of the most popular DFC summer parties.

First Friday Happy Hour
If you're looking for a place to socialize, laugh, and relax with family and friends, then the DFC Happy Hour is just what you need. The free beer and wine begin flowing at 5pm and goes until 7pm (or until it runs out, whichever happens sooner). Held on the patio on the first Friday of each summer month (June, July, August, and September).

Bunco Night
Let the good times roll! For those who don't know, Bunco is a fast moving dice game requiring no skill or experience. It's a great way to have fun, socialize with your friends and family, make new friends, and maybe win a prize or two! Combined with a family pot-luck, this event is a great way to spend a lazy summer evening.

July 4th Picnic
Come celebrate July 4th at the DFC for a full day of games and free food. We'll have pool games, kid's games, tennis, hot dogs on the grill, water melon and more!

Football Tailgate
The DFC celebrates the start of Duke's football season with a club tailgate party. Tennis round robin in the morning, pool games in the afternoon, Punt, Pass, and Kick competition for the kids, and BBQ, chicken and fixins on the grill.

Oktoberfest
Do you like beer and bratwurst? Do you like Traditional German Folk music? Do you like socializing with your DFC friends? If so, then you need to come out to the Oktoberfest party at the DFC. We have bratwurst and vegetables on the grills, a wide selection of seasonal microbrews to sample (as well as some local homebrew), music, campfire, and fun!

Holiday Drop 'N' Shop
Looking for a few hours of uninterrupted holiday shopping, baking, or just general down time? Then bring your kids to the DFC for one of our Holiday Drop & Shops in December. Similar to a Mini-Camp day, kids will enjoy games, sports, and other fun activities.
